Falmouth Academy A college preparatory school with 201 students, the Academy provides a core curriculum (science, math, English, history, and a foreign language) for grades 7 through 12, plus an inclusive athletic program and numerous elective courses, including chamber orchestra, volunteer work, and boating. Students come from as far away as Eastham, Martha's Vineyard, and Plymouth. Situated in the beautiful Beebe Woods property donated to the town by the late Josiah Lilly of Lilly Drug Company, the school has an aggressive financial aid program; nearly 40 percent of the students receive some type of financial aid. Heritage Christian Academy In its 15th year, this nondenominational, Christian school offers a Bible-based curriculum and boasts small class sizes with a teacher-student ratio of about 1 to 7. It currently has an enrollment of 67 students in kindergarten through grade nine, plus 40 children in its preschool. Heritage is also proud of its standardized testing scores, which generally show its students are one to two years ahead of their public school counterparts here. Art, music, and gym are all standard offerings, and the school maintains a financial-aid program.

Cape Cod Academy Now in its 24th year, this private school has an enrollment of about 330 students, from kindergarten through 12th grade. Students come from as far away as Wellfleet and Duxbury. The student/teacher ratio is 9 to 1, and the average class size is 14 students. Athletics, the arts, foreign languages, advancement placement courses, and computer science for all grades are areas of emphasis. The school, which includes a relatively new student activity center with a gymnasium, has a strong financial-aid program.

Trinity Christian Academy Opened in 1967, this interdenominational Christian school has about 55 students in preschool through grade 8. The curriculum is traditional and Bible-based. French is taught in grades 1 through 8, and writing skills are emphasized in every grade. The school holds weekly chapel and has a bell choir. Family School-Saltbox School Housed in two buildings in a pleasant wooded setting with outdoor play areas and a pool, the Family School offers programs for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary school students through grade 5, as well as an after-school program and summer camp. Accredited by the National Academy of Schools, the Family School emphasizes nurturing and the developmental stages of each child, and it accepts state-funded voucher programs for tuition. The Laurel Day School This private, state-certified school offers programs for preschool through grade 8, with a focus on individualized instruction that encourages children to develop into self-starters and perpetual learners. With an enrollment of about 130 students, Laurel stresses environmental studies, language arts (including French), and creative and artistic expression. The school also offers a series of after-school arts classes.
