Senior Centers

You certainly won't ever be bored with all that the Cape's senior centers have to offer. Run by the various Cape Cod Councils on Aging, these offer a full roster of activities designed to keep older adults on the move.

You can learn a hobby--perhaps how to knit, quilt, sew, paint, or even carve wood. You can learn good health management and have regular medical screenings for high blood pressure, diabetes, hearing and visual impairment, other physical conditions, and mental health concerns. You can take yoga classes; you can participate in good nutrition programs through home-delivered or on-site meals; or you can join in any of the councils' fun-packed activities such as dining clubs, cribbage matches, choral groups, bingo games, birthday parties, film festivals, and daytrips.

The senior centers are open year-round. Below is a brief summary of each agency, but we urge you to telephone the centers to see if they provide the services you require. We have found that the majority of the centers have their own newsletters, and you may want to ask them to send you one so you can see what thecenter near you is all about.
