Tips
Boardwalks
are popular paths for the elderly because they provide even footing and
have rails for balance. The Cape has many boardwalks that stretch across
tidal marshlands. The 860-foot Bass Hole boardwalk, in Yarmouthport,
passes alongside an osprey nest. Sandwich's famous boardwalk connects to
the town beach on Cape Cod Bay, while Uncle Tom's Bridge in Wellfleet
leads to a small harbor island and conservation area.
The
real secret to a happy retirement is not to retire from life's challenges.
It is important to develop new interests. Take advantage of the classes at
Cape Cod Community College, (508) 362-2131, or those offered by the
Sandwich Schools (508)
888-5300.
Prime
Time, a free publication put out by the Cape Cod Times, is
geared specifically for the 50-plus crowd. You may pick up a copy at local
libraries or groceries stores throughout the area.
