Cape Cod National Seashore Tips

Engage in an informal chat with noted 19th-century figure and naturalist Henry David Thoreau. Professor David Barto, the personality behind the character, has been portraying Thoreau for over 16 years. Programs are scheduled from late-June through mid-August at the Salt Pond Visitor Center, (508) 255-3421. The lively-children's program and nature walks are free.

Join National Park Service rangers on a Cape Cod National Seashore interpretive program and learn more about the nature and history of Cape Cod. Ranger-led activities range from guided canoe trips, to historic-house tours, and backcountry nature hikes. The Province Lands of the Cape Cod National Seashore is a naturalist's paradise. Here, within the flora and fauna of the dunes you will find beach plum, bayberry, saltspray roses, and beach heather.
